The service has between 2.2 and 3.2 million transmissions per month and over 15 million active users per day. 41% of users are between 16 and 24 years old and 65% are male. Compared to other streaming services, such as Film services like Netflix or Amazon Prime are not that gigantic numbers, but you have to consider that it is a kind of "niche product" that appeals to a very specific target group. In this case, things look very different again, because the results are very impressive, even if it is difficult to determine the exact number of viewers of a stream. Twitch was founded in 2011 by Yale student Justin Kane, who went online with the streaming portal in 2007. This portal allowed different people to broadcast live videos. The success became so gigantic that the industry's top dogs showed their ears and Amazon finally paid $ 970 million for the company. Since then, Twitch has been closely associated with the Amazon company.
