Pentecost in Transylavnia

It is the first occasion MÁV Nosztalgia Kft. is organizing a trip to the Land of Legends: Transylvania.
The journey will take place between May 29, 2009 and June 1, 2009.
During the four days of the trip we are going to visit the most fascinating cities of Southern Transylvania. If you want, you can even take part in the pilgrimage of Csíksomlyó.
Programme:
May 29, 2009
Meeting and registration in the Royal Waiting Room of the Nyugati Train Station in the early evening. Welcome Reception in the Royal Waiting Room, then we get on the train Danube Express. Accommodation in the type of compartment chosen.
May 30, 2009
We start the day with breakfast served in the compartment. We arrive in the town of Nagyszebeny in the morning. Nagyszebeny was the European Capital of Culture in 2008. Here we have the possibility of visiting the Railway Museum or to take a guided tour in the recently renovated magnificent Old Town. In the early afternoon, we continue our trip on the board of the Danube Express heading Brasov. We will arrive there late in the afternoon. After a promenade in the Old Town, we travel to Brasov Poiana, where we will have our three-course dinner. Accommodation in the type of compartment chosen.
May 31, 2009
After our breakfast in the compartment, there are 3 programmes to choose from:
Programme A:
Coach trip to Csíkszereda, possibility to participate in the pilgrimage of Csíksomlyó. We return in the late afternoon.
Programme B:
Coach trip to the land of the Transylvanian Saxons to see the fortress churches that are on UNESCO’s World Heritage List.
Programme C:
Free programme in Brassov, the capital of Braşov County. Accommodation in the type of compartment chosen.

June 1, 2009
After breakfast in the compartment, early risers can visit the Petőfi monument in Fehéregyháza.Guests getting up later can join the other half of the group in the Old Town, where we visit the famous clock tower of Segesvár. Here we taste the Romanian plum brandy, the Tuica, which is prepared in the heart of the city.We leave for Budapest a few minutes before noon. We serve cold lunch on the train. After crossing the border, we serve afternoon tea. Arrival in Budapest in the late afternoon.

*The fees have not yet been finalized, we will have the exact participation fees at the end of March. The difference cannot be substantial.

You can only register for the programmes when paying the participation fee, no further registration can be done during the journey. You can buy tickets in the office of MÁV Nosztalgia Kft. until May 15, 2009. The office is located next to platform 10 of the Nyugati Train Station, in Budapest.
