The legendary ÁRPÁD diesel fast railcar to Subotica

25th of July 2015

The legendary ÁRPÁD diesel fast railcar of the Hungarian railways was built by Messrs. Ganz & Co in 1934 on their own initiative. The fast railcars entered international service first between Budapest and Vienna, covering the 278 km distance in less than 2 hours and 57 minutes. With the growth of the Class more and more domestic express trains - Inter City trains - were put in service. The railcar named ÁRPÁD is at the disposal for the public again after the restoration in 1987.
